When is an A1 Fire rating not an A1 Fire rating?
When several A1 certified materials are combined to form a composite panel any fire rating of the individual components becomes invalid. Read more
It was during the design of these projects that we identified the need for an A2, Independently certified spandrel panel. Unfortunately whilst many manufactures were, and still are, stating their panels are fire rated to A1 as they make their panels from A1 rated materials the truth is that once these materials are combined to form a composite panel any individual material fire rating is null and void.
An insulated spandrel panel is a composite panel that requires adhesive to bond the materials together and thus achieving the required A2 s1, do fire rating is difficult. That said, Speedclad, working closely with one of the worlds leading adhesive providers has developed a panel build-up that does just that. We have a suite of aluminium and glass-faced glazed-in spandrel panels that have each been independently tested by WarringtonFire to achieve A2 s1, do thereby giving specifiers, clients and contractors the peace of mind they need.
At Speedpanel we are committed to the delivery of a client-focused service supported by effective management of quality, health, safety and sustainability. Our experienced team of managers, designers and installers are highly qualified and approachable and we make our clients’ success our priority.

We know that in some cases our Speedpanel A2 range will not meet the client's requirements. That may be the depth of the insulation, the finished face colour or perhaps the design of the rear tray.
With our knowledge, gained from five years of research and development in designing composite panels that can pass A2 fire certification we have what it takes to either help you achieve your requirements or suggest alternatives that could work.
If our standard Speedpanel A2 range doesn’t quite fit the bill then our close relationship with some of the worlds leading manufacturers of materials and certification bodies allows us to develop and test project-specific panels that could meet the required specification.
